I just joined Pinterest tonight and have been making boards. One thing that Pinterest is absolutely great for is making vision boards. Vision boards are large photo collages of your dreams and goals. Each board displays a different subject.
Making these by hand can be quite fun, as you can make it an activity that the whole family can be a part of. It can be a great opportunity to get kids to get active and creative and learn about their interests and what they can accomplish with hardwork.
Pinterest is great for making simple photo collages that you can add to and look at on the go. This can be very beneficial, as you'll be able to always be reminded of your values and dreams throughout the day, even if you are not at home. You can also make personal boards private on pinterest.
One of my private boards is of my dream wedding. I have always had doubts about my worth and whether or not I could be a wife and mother, so I created a board full of things that I'd like to consider having at my wedding. This way, whenever I am feeling less than ideal and seeing all my imperfections, I can pull up my board on pinterest and focus on positive affirmations such as: "I am fearfully and wonderfully made", "I will enjoy my life where it is now and not take this moment for granted", or "I made my requests known unto God, and since I know He wants to bless me, I know my future will be amazing."
MY TIPS FOR MAKING & GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR VISION BOARDS & WHY:
1.) Make it large - you'll want to see it easily, so by making the canvas large, it will tell you its importance and will be hard to miss
2.) Add lots of color - use photos and clipouts that are colorful, pleasant and kind. Your boards should be uplifting, not negative
3.) Write the postings' significance - this would be the better option to do with your pinterest boards than those handmade because of organization and space. Under each photo, say why it is important to you
4.) Add positive affirmations - best done on handmade boards because of more designing freedom, adding short, positive statements with "I will", "I am" or "I declare" to correspond with one or more board posts will help you stay grateful and focused on the good to come.
5.) Put it front and center - by putting your boards in your bedroom, office or online, you will always see it and you will stay focused on doing what you have to, to achieve the goals displayed. This also is a great way to entertain guests and get them inspired and thinking about what they want in their lives!
